Indian actor Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana in the television series 'Ramayana' based on the Hindu mythology Ramayana, has passed away.

According to the Times of India, 82-year-old Trivedi died in Mumbai on Tuesday. He had been unwell for some time. He died of a heart attack after various parts of his body stopped working.

Trivedi, who has worked in Gujarati films for 40 years, had acted in about 300 films in Hindi and Gujarati.

He also became a member of the Lok Sabha from the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1991.
