Job Description
The Program Manager (hereafter referred to as PM) will be a full-time employee of Samaanta Foundation, reporting to the Foundation’s Director of Programs. The PM will be responsible for all Samaanta programs and activities, including selection, academic and personal growth, and welfare of the fellows, and building and maintaining relationships with all partners and stakeholders. This is a full-time position, with a probation period of three months, and regular reviews thereafter.
The key roles and responsibilities of the PM are listed below, but these are meant to be illustrative rather than exhaustive. The organization retains the right to add or change these roles and responsibilities.
Manage all aspects of the selection process, college placement, and academic support to the fellows
Design and manage an annual calendar, extra-curricular sessions, and support internships, skill building, and work placements
Strengthen the mentorship program, organize regular mentorship sessions, increase the pool of mentors, and work with them to increase the impact of the mentorship program. Establish and maintain rapport with the mentors.
Serve as the focal point for all fellows, supervising fees and stipend payments, recording and reviewing academic performance, and supporting their overall growth
Maintain detailed records of fellowship activities and expenditures, and support the publication of quarterly newsletters
Serve as the focal point for all partners and stakeholders including parents, teachers, college and hostel management
Establish new partnerships with stakeholders in education, public sector, development agencies, and corporate sectors to promote Samaanta
Design and develop a communications strategy and funding proposals, and pursue fundraising activities at the national and international levels
Prepare reports for funders and partners as required
Ensure Samaanta’s legal and financial compliance in terms of annual reports, audits, and any other compliance requirements
Liaise with the Board of Directors to shape the vision and future direction of the organization
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferable
At least two years of experience in a similar area of work
Minimum two years of expertise in working with and mentoring young people
Ability to work independently on multiple assignments simultaneously, and lead with minimal supervision
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in Nepali and English
Salary: Competitive salary negotiable, commensurate with qualifications and experience Start date: As soon as possible
