22 years after winning Miss World, Priyanka's title dispute, allegations of fixing
Actress Priyanka Chopra has traveled a long way from being a country girl in Bollywood to becoming a global star. She was also declared Miss World in 2000. But even after 22 years of winning the Miss World title, Priyanka is dragged into controversy. Serious allegations have been made in his victory.
This allegation was made by former Miss Barbados Leilani Mackanen. She also competed in Miss World along with Priyanka. She created a sensation by saying that Priyanka Jeet was a fix.
She also said that she gave special treatment to Priyanka during the competition.
In fact, Leilani McCain is also a YouTuber. She disclosed this after 22 years by releasing a video message. Why did she speak after so long?
Because at the moment there is a controversy about a competitor in Miss America. In the meantime, there was talk of collusion in the beauty pageant. Also, she also said that Miss India won last year too and that time too an Indian cable station was the sponsor.
She earlier said about Priyanka, "She was the only contestant who was allowed to wear a sarong (a scarf-like garment tied around the waist). She replied that she had applied some cream to correct the skin tone and tied the sarong for that reason. That's why she wore a sarong in the swimsuit round.
She also said that no one likes Priyanka during the competition. There is also an allegation that the organization is discriminating against the rest of the competitors.
She also revealed that even though all the contestants get food at the same place, Priyanka gets food in her bed. Before winning, Priyanka was photographed on the beach while the rest of the beauties were kept aside.
Leilani also alleged that the dress designer had designed a dress that would fit Priyanka while the rest of the contestants' dresses did not fit. After the allegations, Leilani's video is going viral.
Priyanka has now returned to Mumbai after three years. She reached there alone and is participating in various programs. She is appearing in some Hollywood films. She is also seen in Farhan Akhtar's film 'Zee Le Zara'.
Why do women love Shah Rukh Khan so much?
When I asked this question to some of my friends, they were surprised. Such questions can be asked to Shahrukh too, he never thought of it. I too had never thought of such a question. But the new book 'Desperately Seeking Shah Rukh' has made me think about this question.
My friends say Shahrukh looks cute. As a hero, he seems like someone you can relate to. Looks like something you can relate to. He likes to joke. He speaks clearly in the interview. He is open about starting his acting journey to earn name and money. They do not show false modesty.
When I asked him some deep questions, he started thinking seriously about the different roles he played in the film. He replied that he never got a chance to act in a real role. His answer was that he never played a 'real' role. He always plays the role of a sensitive hero and completely falls in love with the women he claims to love.
A friend of mine said that we like him because of his love for women. His feeling surprised me.
When writer Sharanya Bhattacharya asked these questions to dozens of female fans of Shahrukh, she got similar answers. But it was surprising that the world of Shahrukh's female fans actually told the story of economic inequality.
Ally Shah Rukh
Sharanya has written, 'When and how did she start showing interest in Shah Rukh Khan. She was not telling me that when, how and why did the world break her heart? In these stories, the world was filled with dreams, worries and romantic preferences, which were always kept in Shahrukh's films.
These answers have come before the writer during meetings, conversations and friendships between these two situations in the last two decades, single, married and women. In which there are also Hindu women. Muslims and Christians too. Among them are the working women, who have given up before time and are still restless. But one thing connects them all. All these women are fans of Shahrukh.
Shah Rukh came to our world in the 1990s. Coca-Cola, cable TV was the proof of the new era in that era. This was the period when many economic reforms one after the other took India to the new world. This was a world of economic liberalization.
Sharanya says, 'I wanted to tell the story of women in the post-liberalisation era and I saw Shah Rukh as a unique helper in this endeavour.' She also explained the way of telling this story.
In 2006, she was conducting a survey among women who make incense sticks in a squatter settlement in western India. In the study, she also said that she found that the woman was fed up with the question of her salary.
So during the holidays she started talking to them to get to know each other better. But instead of labor, they were asked which Hindi film hero they liked the most.
"She was very eager to talk about what made her happiest," says Sharanya.
This question came in handy to break the dilemma. Sharanya knows that Shah Rukh not only connects these women, but the struggle of wages and home life also connects them.
Everyone was crazy about Shah Rukh. A desire was evident in conversations with middle-class to wealthy women. That was why most of our boys and men can't be like the Shah Rukh Khan we see on screen?'
Sharanya says, 'Actually women are making Shah Rukh - all those women are making him. This structure is based on the reality and aspirations of women themselves.
Shahrukh's love for the heroine shows that men who care for women actually listen to them well.
Ideal companion for women
Some of Shahrukh's film characters have distinct identities. In which the hero seems worried about his fate. This feature of his role made him an ideal partner for women, because among those women he hardly had luck in his hands.
His weakness was evident in the character played by Shah Rukh on the screen. They often played the role of Ronadhona. It is also a rare sight in Bollywood to see the hero in the character of Rona Dhona. This means that Shahrukh did not hide his feelings on screen and did not appear indifferent to the heroine's feelings.
A young Muslim garment worker says, "How would I feel if my husband touched or touched Kajol the way Shahrukh did in 'Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham'." But I knew it would never happen. My husband's hands and mood were so dry that it would be dishonest to expect such a thing.
An ex-royal who is unhappy about her marriage says she wants her son to be a 'good man'. A man who can cry and with whom his wife can feel love and security. This is the feeling that Shah Rukh Khan gives to his heroines on screen.
This woman who is crazy about Shahrukh does not mean that she is accepting every role of him. But they deny the role of pursuing women or perpetrating violence against them.
These women may enjoy the glamor or drama of Shahrukh's role on screen, but these things don't last long in their minds. Those things remain in his mind, which seem small or are often hidden in the film.
'Dilwale Dulhaniale Jayenge' is Shah Rukh's biggest hit and probably the most loved romantic film of Bollywood. But I didn't pay much attention to what Shahrukh's fan's mother said. He said, 'For the first time I saw a hero on screen, who spends so much time in the kitchen peeling carrots with the women of the house.
It was a wonderful romantic scene for him. It's not that these women who are Shahrukh's fans didn't talk about sexuality or sexual attraction. But he did more than that.
