Doctors have said that the risk of ovarian and breast cancer is high in women who do not breastfeed during childbirth.
Prof. Dr. Sunilmani Pokharel, Head of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of Bharatpur Hospital, said that various studies have shown that the risk of cancer is higher in women who breastfeed than in women who do not.
He said that breast-feeding increases the oxidation hormone of mothers and that prevents cancer.
Speaking at the 'Importance of Breastfeeding: Doctor-Journalist Interaction Program' organized by Kantipur Health on Saturday in Bharatpur on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week, Prof. Dr. Pokharel said that after a woman gives birth, the oxidation hormone is more in the milk of the first colostrum and the uterus contracts when sucking milk, thus preventing bleeding.
The mother said that if the child is breastfed, there will be no problem of breast infection or lumps.
Doctors said that mother's milk plays an important role in the physical development of children, and there is a risk of infection when feeding ready-made milk.
In recent times, there is a growing trend of women not breastfeeding their children in Nepal, saying that it affects their busyness and beauty. "Breastfeeding should be done after the birth of the baby, it is also a matter of the rights of the baby, on the other hand, it benefits both the mother and the child from the health point of view, while other things are a matter of detail," he said.

Pokharel said that after breastfeeding, breast reduction along with obesity can be done by doing various exercises. "However, in the same situation as before, the breast will not go", he said.
He said that mothers who do not breastfeed regularly will accumulate fat in their breasts and may even cause cancer. He said that the child should be given 'exclusive waste feeding' for 6 months and should be fed milk for at least two years.
Bharatpur Hospital's pediatric specialist Dr. Shwetakumar Gupta said that if a child sucks mother's milk, the child can be protected from diarrhoea, breathing, pneumonia and various infections.
Because mother's milk is the same as the first vaccine for newborns, it is better to feed the baby within 1 hour after birth. Gupta says.
She said, "There is no nutritional element like mother's milk. It is also clean, it can be fed when needed, its alternative is not through canned milk.
