What kind of disease is molluscum contagiosum?
Recently in Nepal, the problem of sexual transmission among teenagers, young adults and adults has started to increase. Among them, the infection of Molluscum contagiosum has been seen to be increasing rapidly.
Molluscum contagiosum is a type of viral infection that appears as small nodules on the skin. In adults, this virus is mostly spread through sexual contact, so its rate seems to be increasing in this age group. However, this problem is not seen even in small children. The disease is spread after coming in contact with an infected person.
Symptoms
Molluscum contagiosum infection produces small, round, smooth and pearly white nodules. These nodules are usually 2-5 mm in diameter and appear around the genital area. The lumps are usually painless but sometimes itchy or red.
Complexity
This infection is usually not serious, but in some cases the infection of the nodules can lead to other skin problems. In people with weak immunity, this infection can last for a long time. It can also cause complications.
Reason to move
Molluscum contagiosum is often spread by direct contact, especially through sexual contact. Also, this infection can be spread by sharing infected clothes, towels or other personal items. In children, this infection can spread easily through direct contact while playing. The main reasons for the increase in these infections have been found to be unsafe sex, lack of adequate sex education and lack of awareness about sexually transmitted diseases. Also, because this infection is easily spread and often does not itch or hurt, people tend not to take it seriously, so its infection rate may have started to increase.
What is the solution?
Some effective measures can be taken to avoid this infection. The first and most important thing is to avoid unprotected sex. A condom should be used when having sex. It helps prevent molluscum contagiosum and other sexually transmitted diseases, but is not 100% safe.
The second is to pay attention to sexual education in teenagers, young adults and adults and make them aware of sexual health. Thirdly, infected persons should seek medical advice and treatment immediately. Do not share personal items and pay attention to your hygiene.

Types of skin cancer

Basal Cell Carcinoma: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause this type of cancer. Such as face, ears, cheeks, neck and hands appear and gradually increase. It can be cured if treated in the early stages. It is treated with ointments, lasers, cutting the cancerous skin.
Squamous cell carcinoma
It also occurs in the parts of the body that are in direct contact with the sun. Ulcers and old wounds are prone to cancer. It is more complex than the basal cell. In case of such cancer, it has to be treated through surgery.
Melanoma
Melanoma cancer can occur anywhere in the body. Because it can be more in parts of the body that are not visible to the sun, such as toenails, fingers and feet. Although the chances of getting this cancer are less, it is more dangerous than the other two cancers. It has to be treated with chemotherapy. There is a risk of rapid spread to other parts of the body.
Treatment of skin cancer
Skin cancer can be treated with ointments, lasers, chemotherapy and surgery. For this, a biopsy examination should be done in consultation with a skin cancer doctor. If skin cancer is diagnosed, it is treated with radiotherapy and chemotherapy. If the disease is detected in time, it can be completely cured. But there is also the possibility of coming again.
Avoidance
Avoid sun radiation, apply sunblock cream at least 15 minutes before going out, wear clothes that cover the whole body when going outside. Also, if any changes are seen in the skin, the doctor should be checked immediately. Skin should be examined from time to time as much as possible.
