What causes breast discharge?
Breast cancer
If there is bloody discharge from the woman's breast. Also, if there is a lump inside the breast, the skin over the nipple is thickening, these can be signs of breast cancer.
That is why a woman experiences a lump in her breast. And, if red discharge starts from the breast, you should see the doctor immediately.
A tumor in the pituitary gland
The brain has a gland called pituitary. It controls many other glands of the body. It helps produce hormones, which control growth, blood pressure, reproduction and many other important functions.
But if for some reason a tumor grows in the pituitary gland of a woman, it can be a sign of 'nipple discharge'.
Prolactin hormone imbalance

What color is the discharge?
Yellow and transparent: If this color discharge occurs from both breasts, then there is no need to worry much. But if it is coming out of one breast, you should contact the doctor immediately.
White: This type of secretion can also appear when the baby is breastfed or after stopping breastfeeding. In many women, this discharge appears two to three years after weaning from breastfeeding. which can be considered normal.
Color of blood: Due to a breast tumor (papilloma), there may be red discharge from the nipple. Moreover, in some cases, such discharge can be a sign of breast cancer.
Green: This color can also be due to breast cysts, hormonal imbalance or abnormal glandular secretions.
If you experience any kind of lumps, sores, spots and secretions, itching, swelling and pain on the nipple or breast along with abnormal colored breast discharge, you should consult a doctor immediately.
Prevention and treatment
If there is a thyroid problem, the problem of secretion comes under control by treating it. If the hormone level in the body is not right, it should be treated. If there is an infection in the breast from the test, there is a risk of spreading to the whole body.
It can also cause high fever. Therefore, in case of breast pain, swelling or redness, you should go to the doctor immediately.
If a mother or sister in the family has already had breast cancer, then it is necessary to be more careful as other members may also develop it.

And, it is advisable to have mammography and breast ultrasound once a year. Discharge from the nipple due to hormones should also be treated.
